bonnington village

The site is located in the heart of the Bonnington District of northern Edinburgh, an area undergoing major change with a number of residential developments proposed. There are a number of traditional tenement blocks and existing residential flatted developments nearby the application site, along with terraced and semi-detached houses slightly further away.

The site itself has a rich industrial heritage and during the 1800s was the site of The Bonnington Steam Mills. Maps from this period show a dense concentration of mills, foundries and other industrial uses between here and the Port of Leith. These buildings and landmarks help to defined the areas character and history of the area, and help to create a desirable location and development.

The development is currently under construction with a completion date for 2019.
