This year has proved to be an exciting year for the team at EMA.
From moving offices, expanding our team, to maintaining our client relations, as well as gaining a few new clients along the way, we have all worked hard to ensure that 2015 was a successful year, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team.
A few of highlights from this year include:
– Homes for Scotland Best New Development (Large) – Dalmore Mill.
– 125 New Projects.
– Commendation for McDonald Road Colonies.
– Finalist in 5 categories in Scottish Homes Awards and Scottish Property Awards.
– Top 75 of 1200 largest architecture companies in UK.
– Urban Realm Top 30 in Scotland out of 800 practices.
– 28,347 new homes in current projects.
It has been a busy year, and December was no exception. Our hard work has generated many successes this month, which is a fantastic way to end the year.
We are delighted that a detailed planning consent has been granted for a new housing development of 633 new homes at Broomhills, Edinburgh.
The development includes 158 new affordable homes, a new community park, provision for a new primary school and 6000sqft of commercial / retail space at the Burdiehouse Road entrance.
A residential development on the site of the former Balshagray Public School in Broomhill, Glasgow. The site had been used by Anniesland College, but when they moved to a new purpose built facility the site and the listed building have fallen into disrepair.
The design incorporates 73 new homes within the site including the conversion of the listed school building and hub. The proposals also incorporate a new build element along Broomhill Avenue.
Planning has been submitted with a view to obtaining a positive recommendation early in 2016.
Mavor Avenue, East Kilbride
We are pleased to announce that the EMA designed development at Mavor Avenue, East Kilbride has been submitted for detailed planning. The application has been prepared on behalf of Manse (East Kilbride) LLP, and seeks to establish a future use for the former Rolls-Royce site.
The proposal will create a new neighbourhood, retail gateway, enhanced employment facilities and high quality open space that will be to the future economic benefit of East Kilbride. The proposal for the site seeks to secure new housing and employment opportunities, whilst ensuring that the new development is properly landscaped and better integrated with its surroundings.
At the heart of the development will be the proposed Lee’s Burn Park, designed to create a place of distinction and enduring quality for the new neighbourhood and surrounding area.
Final thoughts from Ewan McIntyre, MD
“Firstly, I would like to thank the team at EMA for all their hard work and dedication in making 2015 one of the most successful years to date.
However, none of this would be possible without the continued support and commitment of all our clients, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all.
We wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. It has been a pleasure working with you all this year, we have worked on many amazing projects in 2015, and I look forward to the challenges and successes that 2016 will bring.”
