Since the last update, Gavin and the EMA rally car have been out competing a couple of times with mixed success. In August, we headed south to the Otterburn military ranges to take part in a British championship event. Given that we were up against some of the best crews in Britain and on super fast stages, we were very happy to finish an entertaining day in 54th position overall, 8th in class and 2nd 1600 8 valve home.
A month later we were back in the north of England for the Pendragon Rally, an event which takes place over twistier stages which suit Gavin and the Nova well. Unfortunately, after a great start on the opening stage, the gear linkage broke on stage 2. Despite dropping time, this was an easy fix, however on the very next stage, the gearbox broke completely. All that was left to do was limp back to the service area and park the car!
A replacement gearbox, new clutch and modified gear linkage will all be in place for the final event of the season, which takes place on the airfield at Crail in Fife, on Saturday 5th November. Watch this space for updates from Gavin.
We would like to wish Gavin all the very best for the final event of the season. We are proud of you so… GO GAVIN GO !!!!!!
