We are delighted to announce that the Findrassie project received a Scottish Award for quality in planning in the partnership category on Tuesday 8th November 2016 at the 18th Planning Awards ceremony. The Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning is one of the Government most prestigious events. It celebrates achievements in planning, from the detail of processing through to the bigger picture of creating places which will become the legacy of our professionalism. This year Planning and Architecture deliberately took the time to change the format of the Awards to reflect the ‘Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design’. In modernising the Awards it attracted a record high number of applications.
Reason for Award:
The Judges were impressed with the long term masterplan approach, to both infrastructure and design, taken for the area.
The story started with the landowners who wanted to leave a legacy. Thereafter, the design for the place drew heavily on ideas from the local community, with the vision being captured in a detailed but user friendly document. The development was an ambitious programme, for Moray, but the foundation was clear and well set out for everyone to buy into the forthcoming changes planned to happen in their local area.
Well done to all that were involved in the Findrassie project.
